From Summer to Winter - a space transformation

Back by popular demand!


Following on from the success of our partnership Summer pop up bar The Back Yard Project, working with The Royal Exeter Hotel, we set about transforming the space into an ‘Apres Ski’ Winter venue.

Working with our sister company Innovative Hire we set about making custom wooden framed heated Igloo Domes, built on raised scaffold deck frames to get around the unlevel ground of the previous car park space. Surrounded with real Christmas trees, 200metres of festoon lights, and of course a few retro ski’s!

We also created a really exciting and new indoor area, which was previously a storage area of the venue. A custom bar was built, with booth seating and Covid secure walling and partiitons in place. 

A 20metre x 15metre stretch tent was installed with 26 tonnes of concrete ballast and wrapped around a 20ft shipping container kitchen. A custom seating area was built in the middle of the stretch tent designed with social distancing and Covid secure screens in mind. Around the perimeter we installed levels of higher booth seating, DJ decks and even 2x Ski Gondolas as booth seats!

The Street Kings knocked up a wicked Winter Apres Ski menu including Mac n Cheese bites, Stuffing balls, Pigs in Blankets, melted camemberts and some special 'BackYard Burgers'. Serving out from a converted shipping container to guests throughout the day and late into the night!
