Just the beginning...
Bringing Christmas in Cambridge to life
At Seventa Events, we focus on creating large scale, high impact experiences, and Christmas in Cambridge is a clear example of that in action. Based at Parker’s Piece, the event has been established as a major festive destination, welcoming over 500,000 visitors each season and bringing the city together in celebration.
Operating under a 7 year contract from 2024, the event has been designed as a long term platform, allowing it to grow, evolve and strengthen its position year on year.
We deliver the event end to end, including full planning, construction, production, marketing and operational management, ensuring a consistent and high quality experience across all elements.
Each season involves a 10 day build programme, delivered by a crew of over 75 people, transforming the site into a fully functioning, multi use festive destination.
The experience includes:
A full size ice rink
A big wheel overlooking the city
A real Christmas tree maze
An Après Terrace with curling lanes, shuffleboard and more
A Christmas market featuring 30+ chalet huts
A interactive games area with dodgems, helter skelter rides and more
Alongside this, we curate and deliver a full entertainment programme, including DJs, live singers, performers and Santa, ensuring consistent energy and engagement throughout the event.
The project also delivers strong local impact, creating 60+ jobs each season across a 49 day operational period, alongside opportunities for local suppliers, traders and creatives.
Christmas in Cambridge continues to grow as a destination, combining scale, experience and community integration to create a festive event that evolves year after year.
Transforming Parker's Piece
Creating Cambridge's Festive Wonderland
Parker’s Piece, renowned as a cherished public space with a rich history in Cambridge, had previously hosted a Christmas operation that had become dated and in need of a refreshing new direction. Our goal was to revitalise this historic site with a fresh focus on local community and festivities. We built a complete pop-up site featuring:
A Real Ice Rink: Welcoming over 50,000 skaters.
The Apres Terrace: Equipped with curling lanes, shuffleboard tables, and a bar.
The Alpine Lodge and Tipi: Providing cosy spaces for festive drinks and visits from Santa.
Christmas Market Chalet Huts: Hosting a mix of local and national traders.
Collaborations with Partners: Delivering attractions like a giant Big Wheel and a magical Christmas Tree Maze.
Custom-Branded Cups and Mugs: Souvenirs for visitors to remember their experience.
Building our Christmas Community
The 2025 season and beyond
Community and Employment Impact
Our second year delivering Chrismas in Cambridge created over 60 local jobs, providing valuable opportunities during the festive season. We also worked with local DJs, singers, and entertainers to bring high-quality performances to the site, enhancing the entertainment offering.
Exceptional Visitor Feedback
The response was overwhelmingly positive. Guests loved the thoughtful curation of activities and the event’s welcoming atmosphere.
First week visitor; Lisa Riley-Holmes said, “We booked an Alpine Lodge booth and loved the atmosphere and stalls. Next year we’re booking the curling and skating too!”
Our efforts also resonated online, with over 1 million unique website visitors and 11,000 new social media followers across Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok. The event drew attendees from across the country, including London, Birmingham, and even Edinburgh, solidifying Cambridge as a festive destination.
