Seventa Events Wins 7-Year Contract to Deliver 'Christmas in Cambridge'
Seventa Events is delighted to announce that planning permission has been granted for the creation of Cambridge’s all-new Christmas offering.
All-new for 2024, Seventa Events is delighted to bring ‘Christmas in Cambridge’ to the historic Parker’s Piece.
Having worked alongside Cambridge City Council, Seventa Events has designed a completely new offering for Cambridge, which has considered the results from public feedback surveys of past Christmas events held on Parkers Piece. This new and exciting event will take place in 2024 onwards.
Running from the middle of November until January 5th and open from 11 am - 7 days a week, ‘Christmas in Cambridge’ will bring an enchanting festive celebration for all ages. In a complete renovation of Parker’s Piece festive offering, Christmas in Cambridge will be spreading festive cheer with a whole host of immersive entertainment and areas, including:
The Christmas Market - With a combination of local and national traders, guests will be able to enjoy an immersive stroll through our festive chalet huts to pick up the perfect present and enjoy delicious festive street food such as the famous Yorkshire Pudding Wrap.
The Ice Rink & Domes - Taking centre stage on site will be Cambridge’s largest outdoor festive ice rink. All abilities and ages are welcome with the use of skate aids. For those not getting their skates on, there are viewing platforms and magical festive heated domes that will offer guests the chance to wine and dine with views of the ice.
The Alpine Lodge - Cambridge’s very own tribute to the slopes of Val-d’Isère, The Alpine Lodge will provide the perfect spot to enjoy a festive tipple or two and a soundtrack of your favourite Xmas anthems, with indoor and outdoor areas, the Alpine Lodge makes a great setting for those festive nights out.
Santa’s Grotto - Housed in his very own festive wooden Lodge cabin, families will have a chance to meet the man himself with all little ones (naughty or nice) receiving a gift from Santa to remember the day.
The Christmas Tree Maze - Guests can enjoy a trail through 300 Christmas Trees in their very own wonderland.
The Après Terrace - Whether it’s taking on the all-new curling lanes, battling over the free-to-play shuffleboard and air hockey tables or enjoying food and drinks from the Après Bar; the Après Terrace will be the home for fun and games in Cambridge for Christmas.
The Big Wheel – A 36-metre big wheel will offer views over Cambridge City alongside a vintage carousel and a Christmas Tree Maze.

“We are excited to be bringing a Christmas event to Cambridge that represents the quality and festive ambience that the residents of Cambridge can enjoy daily. We look forward to spending the next 12 months planning and developing the perfect offering for Christmas in Cambridge. With the addition of mains power to Parker’s Piece, we are also delighted to be able to offer a sustainable alternative to the use of generators for the event.
From family gatherings and festive occasions with your friends to company Christmas parties, you can enjoy all of the festive delights including the Alpine Lodge bar, Curling Lanes, Christmas Market Chalets Huts, Big Wheel, Santa’s Grotto, Street Food area, and of course our large outdoor Ice Rink with heated Domes.
We already have some fantastic local businesses involved, including our equipment suppliers through to our retail and food traders. We wholeheartedly believe in supporting the local economy. We have also partnered with Cambridge Dining Company, on the corporate Christmas parties that we can offer. We would love to hear from all Cambridge companies that would like to be involved, including trading at the event.
We have been awarded a 7-year contract and look forward to growing the event over these years. With the support of Cambridge and its residents, we will create an event that Cambridge will be proud of and one that will create local jobs, revenue for local suppliers, and income generation for hotels, restaurants, retail, and other local businesses.”
