Seventa celebrate a record breaking season at Bournemouth Christmas Market
Seventa and Bournemouth Christmas Market celebrate an unparalleled success for Christmas in Bournemouth 2023
As we bid farewell to another extraordinary season, we stand proud, having played a pivotal role in elevating Bournemouth's Christmas celebrations to new heights. Our signature event, Christmas in Bournemouth, featuring the enchanting Christmas Tree Wonderland trail, the bustling Christmas Market, and the exhilarating SKATE Ice Rink, witnessed an unprecedented average of 94,500 daily visits, firmly establishing Bournemouth as the ultimate festive destination.
A highlight of our efforts this season was the introduction of the children's activity booklet, encouraging families to explore the wonders of Christmas in Bournemouth. Teaming up with Shorefield Holidays added an extra layer of excitement, with one fortunate winner enjoying a family holiday courtesy of our Christmas Trail.
Our commitment to family-friendly experiences continued with new kids' activity classes, hosted by local providers in the cosy alpine lodge. From Christmas cookie decorating to festive bath bomb making, we aimed to create lasting memories for the youngest members of our community.
"Our favourite year visiting Bournemouth so far! From the children's train in the gardens and the activity trail through the wonderland, and up to the market, the town looks so festive!"
Danni Miller, visitor to Christmas in Bournemouth 2023
The season reached a crescendo with the special appearance of Eurovision and chart-topping sensation Sam Ryder. His live performance in Bournemouth Town Centre, coupled with his endorsement of our event as the best in his six-day, 26-show tour, brought a touch of star power to our festivities.
"we’ve done 26 shows over 6 days and we think this is the best one - 100% in fact. It’d definitely the only one with its own snow"
Sam Ryder, Chart Topping Sensation
Our dedication to community engagement saw over 10 local choirs and bands, visits from local children's entertainers, the AFCB Women's team, and Cherry the Bear contributing to the festive cheer. The penalty shoot-out competition with the AFCB Women's team added an extra layer of excitement, with lucky winners earning tickets to a Premier League fixture.
Seventa Events takes pride in fostering local economic growth, welcoming over 65 suppliers, 60 of which are based in the BCP conurbation. This year’s market saw a focus on local community involvement with the number of local traders increasing, including the likes of The Ducking Stool, Bournemouth Brownie Co, Bobby's Parlour and The South Coast Markers Market, to name a few. These newly formed partnerships proved hugely popular amongst visitors and the events agency hopes that as a result, these collaborations will continue to thrive over upcoming events and at this year’s market.
As we reflect on this season's success, our Director, Simon Brooks, expresses his delight, affirming our commitment to delivering the premier Christmas experience on the South Coast.
"We are delighted to have played a role in bringing Bournemouth Town Centre to life with a little festive magic this Christmas. Alongside Christmas Tree Wonderland and SKATE Ice Rink, we are proud to have delivered what we believe to be the best festive offering across the South Coast."
Simon Brooks, Director of Seventa Events | Bournemouth Christmas Market
Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate returning for Christmas 2024, grateful for the unwavering support from our community, vendors, and sponsors. Plans are already underway to make next year's festivities even more magical, ensuring Seventa Events remains at the forefront of Bournemouth's cherished holiday traditions.
