Seventa celebrates a season of success!

After the covid interruptions of 2020/21, the team couldn’t contain our excitement at the thought of returning to Bournemouth Town Centre to make up for lost time and lead the celebrations alongside Christmas Tree Wonderland. 

Now into our 4th year of delivering www.christmasinbournemouth.co.uk , we decided it was only right to add a little extra sprinkling of festive magic to the season with the addition of a brand new Snow Dome offering for visitors to enjoy. Taking up residency on the iconic Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre terrace, www.bournemouthsnowdomes.co.uk provided the perfect setting for those all-important festive catch ups. 

With use of our 2-storey 20ft Container Bar, 8 fully heated Snow Domes, Alpine seating and food supplied by local legend El Murrino Pizza, the domes offered unrivalled views over the Christmas Tree Wonderland and no shortage of Christmas spirit. Despite it being their first year as part of our offering, we were overwhelmed with the response we received with weekend and evening reservations filling up prior to our opening - a sign of things to come as Bournemouth’s residents embraced the Christmas spirit like never before.

We had a lovely view over the gardens all lit up for Christmas, amazing pizzas, it was no trouble switching out some of the alcoholic drinks that were included in the price, for soft drinks for the kids. It was toasty & warm in our little dome & full of festive cheer as we sat & sang away to the Xmas music that was piped in. We’ve recommended it to everyone. With the Domes providing the perfect start to a visitors journey through The Christmas Tree Wonderland, we set to work delivering our largest market offering to date. Bespoke built by sister company Innovative Hire and returning for 2021, our 40ft two-storey Alpine Lodge Bar was once again a stand out feature of the market. The lodge provided capacity to host 180 downstairs, 100 upstairs and an additional 250 in its surrounding outdoor area. The structure also boasts two large bars and an abundance of rustic furniture and décor, giving it that perfect après ski vibe. Large heated parasols were added to the outdoor area to ensure guests were kept warm and dry through the adverse weather over Christmas!

Surrounding our Alpine Lodge, we were delighted to welcome traders including local legends such as Dorset Chilli Shop, Norris & Binglewort and Cherry Tree Preserves alongside national offerings from experienced operators Sweyn Forkbeard, Kohler Kusse and many more. With all of our traders reporting a record year of sales, we can’t wait to welcome even more local and national brands to join us again next year.

In addition to our Trader Huts and Alpine Lodge offerings, 2021 saw the introduction of our largest ever photo-point. Standing at over 3 metres wide and tall, our illuminated photo frame took centre stage outside the lodge and offered guests the perfect memento from their visit.  Having welcomed over 3 million visitors this year, we are constantly evolving our offering and can’t wait to add even more interactive content for all ages in 2022!

This year’s highlights saw the market deliver a memorable moment for one lucky couple as we used our giant screen for a heart-warming proposal in the town centre, visits from Strictly Come Dancing and Channel 5 News and even regular visits from Bobby’s Bournemouth’s very own Father Christmas. 

A special mention to our Christmas Market Head of Events, Rosie Mooney, who in her debut year delivering the market oversaw our most successful year to date with a record number of attendees and traders.

As we pack away our garlands and mistletoe for another year, our thoughts have already turned to our return in 2022 as we continue to innovate and evolve Bournemouth’s now nationally recognised Christmas offering.
