UK’s First Floating Fan Park Set to Launch Across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch for the World Cup
Plans have been unveiled for a world first floating fan park and cinema experience, set to travel across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch during the World Cup this summer.
A world first is coming to the South Coast this summer as Seventa unveils plans for a groundbreaking floating fan park and cinema experience, set to travel across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch throughout the tournament.
Designed as a fully immersive offshore venue, the floating fan park will anchor at key locations across the BCP coastline, creating a unique way for fans to come together and watch live World Cup fixtures on a giant outdoor screen set on the water.
The modular floating venue will feature a central standing arena for fans, surrounded by floating jetties allowing boats and jet skis to dock and watch matches directly from the sea. Powered by a combination of wind and solar energy, the installation has been designed with a net zero eco footprint, offering a forward thinking approach to large scale events on the coast.

By positioning the experience offshore, the concept also aims to alleviate pressure on Bournemouth’s busy beachfront during peak season, while creating a new and unique way for visitors and residents to enjoy the summer.
Alongside live match screenings, the floating park will host a full programme of activity across the summer. On non match days, the venue will transform into a sunset cinema club, alongside dance evenings, live performances from leading UK artists, and a summer afternoon tea experience. A curated selection of local street food traders will be featured throughout, showcasing some of the region’s best independent operators.

For those without access to boats, dedicated passenger transfers will operate from Bournemouth Pier, Poole Harbour and Mudeford Quay, running regularly on both event and match days to ensure easy access to the floating venue.
The floating fan park will move between locations across the BCP area during the tournament, bringing the experience to multiple coastal communities and maximising accessibility across the region.
This pioneering concept marks the UK’s first floating fan park of its kind, positioning Bournemouth and the surrounding coastline at the forefront of innovative and sustainable live event experiences.
Simon Brooks, Director at Seventa, said: “We can’t wait to bring a truly unique Bournemouth experience to this year’s World Cup. The South Coast has always had an incredible atmosphere in the summer, and this concept takes that to another level, combining live sport, music, food and the water in a way that’s never been done before in the UK, while doing it in a more sustainable and forward thinking way.”
Further details, including schedules, locations and ticketing information, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Editor’s note: While plans for floating venues remain firmly anchored in imagination for now, Seventa wishes everyone a happy April Fools.
